Sailing in Wind Star (yes, real sailing as she has sails to assist)is a true 5 star plus experience. The ships are small with 150 max guests (we had 54)- it is like being on your own private yacht where you know all the staff by name and they know you and your foibles! The catering is fantastic with ahuge choice of truly gourmet meals presently extremely elegantly. You choose when and with whom to eat in the one beautiful restaurant and the dress is infromal but smart - no ties, no jackets needed. Gorgeous snacks and canapes provided before dinner and alwyas chocolate snacks afterwards! Drinks form the bar a little pricy but the wine list has some reasonable choices. Not a big selection of beer to choose from. Plenty of DVDs to watch on your cabin flat screen plus DVD player. Small (very) pool and one hot tub!
The bridge is open so you can check on progress, view the charts and radar etc and hassle (?) the charming ships officers - this all adds to the experience.
If you like smalll and intimate with no formal entertainment and plenty of time to chill out in luxury you will ove this - although I would prefer to keep it a secret!
Only disappointment is for tea lovers - it is a struggle to get a good cup of tea. Teapots exist but boilig water is hard to come by!
